Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej Now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born 12 November 1961. She was the first Romanian to be awarded a score of 10 in an Olympic contest. Bela Karolyi, later Romanian gymnastics coach, discovered Comaneci when she was just six years old. Comaneci competed for the first time in the 1969 national junior championships, placing 13th. Following that, she was crowned champion. In her very first international event in 1972 she took the top spot with three gold medals. In her first international competition as a senior, in 1975 she beat out Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva the five-time European champion, winning four gold medals as well as one silver. In 1976, she was the first female athlete in the world to use a backwards-double salto to dismount from the parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. She started her career as an entertainment professional during her teenage years, when she performed as the figure skating duo of her sibling Nina Wayne for the travelling entertainment program Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol started her career in entertainment as a teenager. When she was a child she started her career as a figure skating performer with Nina Wayne in the travelling show of entertainment Ice Capades. The shows featured ice skating performances that were accompanied by theatrical music.
