Cheney claims that the role he plays within the administration as one of a frank but discreet adviser to Bush. Cheney, who accepted the Republican vice-presidential election in 2007, said his hopes were high for being under a President who can work across political lines and collaborate with rival political parties through goodwill and a shared purpose. Richard Bruce Cheney, son of Richard Herbert Cheney & Marjorie Lauraine Dickey was born on the 30th of January, 1941 in Lincoln Nebraska. When he was 13 years old Richard and his family relocated from Nebraska to Casper which was where his dad worked as Director of the U.S. Department of Agriculture local district for soil conservation.
